March 2016: Marc is selected as the 2016 Southeastern Regional Access Team (SER-CAT) beamline Young Investigator of the Year! This is an award given to the best manuscript by a graduate student or postdoctoral fellow who uses the SER-CAT X-ray beamline at the Advanced Photon Source in Chicago. Congrats! Marc also gave a seminar at the Emory hosted SER-CAT Annual Meeting.

July 2011: Dr. Ajchareeya (Miki) Ruangprasert joins the lab from the University of Georgia where she was finishing a short-term postdoc in Dr. Ellen Neidle lab. Miki received her PhD in Dr. Cory Momany in the Department of Microbiology also at University of Georgia.
June 2011: Emory undergraduate Nisha Giridharin is awarded a HHMI- SIRE fellowship to continue her research in the laboratory. Congrats!
May 2011: BCDB graduate student Marc Schureck join the lab. Marc received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of Florida.
May 2011: Christine’s postdoctoral advisor, Venki Ramakrishnan is awarded the 2011 McCormick prize at Emory for his contribution to his research on revealing how antibiotics bind to the bacterial ribosome.
April 2011: Christine receives a Emory URC (University Research Council) grant to work on understanding the structural basis for stop codon read through.

January 2011: Dr. Jack Dunkle joins the lab from Prof. Jamie Cate’s lab at the University of California, Berkeley.

September 2008: Georgia Tech Professor Loren Williams, along with 9 other research groups including the Dunham lab, is awarded a 5 year NASA Astrobiology grant.
